Funeral services for Mrs. Irener Rowland, 89, Strong, who died Monday at her home, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Batts Chapel Baptist Church in Strong with the Rev. G. F. Abson officiating. Burial will be in the Batts Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Union Funeral Home of Farmerville, La. Mrs. Rowland was born Sept. 11, 1884, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Rowland. She was a member of Batts Chapel Baptist Church. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Artice Craig, Mrs. Eula M. Tensley, Mrs. Eva G. Gulley, Mrs. Odessa Craig, and Mrs. Mamie Norman, all of Strong; four sons, J. M. Craig, Camden, Gar Lee Craig, Pine Bluff, Clarence Craig, Strong, and Alvester Craig, Castro Valley, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Hattie Wills, St. Louis, Mo.; 32 grandchildren; 68 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be deacons of the church. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews. (El Dorado Times - April 13, 1974)
