*When Arlin Henry Hughes was born on March 11, 1916, in Searcy, Arkansas, his father, Eslie, was 30 and his mother, Elsie, was 24. He married Elenor Lorene Crook on October 31, 1936, in White, Arkansas. They had one child during their marriage. He died on February 12, 2001, at the age of 84, and was buried in Pangburn, Arkansas.
