January 16, 1898 - February 22, 1963
Mrs. Isabel France who was sixty-five years old on January 16, 1898 died Friday night, February 22, 1963 in a Fort Smith, Arkansas hospital of cancer.
Her husband Owen France preceded her in death on April 26, 1962, of cancer.
Mrs. France was author of the newspaper column "Hills of Home"; a member of the Van Buren First Presbyterian church; she was active in the Boston Mountain Resort associastion; her home was Shepherd Springs, Route one, Mountainburg, Arkansas.
Survivors are two daughters, Patsie and Sarah; six brothers Ernest, Albert, Fred, Keith, Paul and Kenneth; two sisters, Esther and Hazel; one grandson Frederick; two granddaughters, Jane and Patricia and three great grandchildren.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian church in Van Buren. V. L Schmidt, pastor, preached the sermon. A second service was held at 3:45 at the Vaught cemetery. Mr. Schmidt, pastor was assisted by Paul Mennenoeth, a former pastor of Mountainburg Presbyterian church and a longtime friend of Mrs. France and family. Burial was beside her husband in Vaught Cemetery with Ocker Funeral home in charge of the arrangements.
