Leo Ennis Perry, 80, of Route 3, Box 12, Huntsville died April 11, 1996, at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born Jan. 14, 1916, at Webb City, Ark., the son of Joseph Andrew and Alice Maybelle McFerrin Perry. He was a retired furniture maker, a Protestant and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Huntsville Post 10,021 Veterans of Foreign Wars, and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans of Springdale.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Marie Torbitt Perry of the home; two sons, Jim Perry of Gentry and Bob Perry of Decatur, Ark.; one daughter, Mrs. June Johnson of Lowell; two stepsons, Richard Qualls of Rogers and Elbert Qualls of Berryville; one brother, Clarence Perry of Huntsville; six grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and ten stepgreat-grandchildren.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 15, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with the Rev. Gordon Bradshaw and the Rev. J.W. Walker officiating. Interment was in the Huntsville Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home. Military honors were by Huntsville Post #10,021, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Hayes-Smith Post #137, American Legion.
Pallbearers were Durward Cook, Jimmy Cook, Dale Qualls, Brian Qualls, Mike Qualls, and Keith Qualls. Honorary pallbearers were Jack Nichols, Chad Qualls, Jimmy Safley and Bill Smith.
