Husband of Ruby Carpenter Whorton
Arthur Virgil Whorton, 70, of Route 2, Springdale, died Oct. 25, 1984, at the Springdale Memorial Hospital. He was born May 7, 1914 at Loy, the son of Francis Marion and Dolly Burk Whorton. He was a retired carpenter and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruby Carpenter Whorton of the home; two sons, Ronnie Whorton and Ricky Whorton, both of Springdale; one sister, Mrs. Alma Stamps of Castleford, Idaho.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with the Rev. Cecil Garrison officiating. Burial was in the Huntsville Cemetery under direction of Brashears Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Skip Emmett, Paul Whorton, Hugh Parson, Ewell Parson, Larry Carpenter and Charles Colville.
