Golda Mae Whorton
AURORA — Golda Mae Whorton, 87, of Aurora died Jan. 5, 1996, at Meadowview Lodge Nursing Home in Huntsville. She was born March 19, 1908, at Asher to William Edward and Mary Stewart Murphy. She was a homemaker, a Baptist and a resident of Aurora (Madison County) since 1928. She was preceded in death by her husband, Squire Whorton, on Aug. 14, 1961; two sons, Lee Aaron Whorton and Jack Leon Whorton; and two daughters, Margaret Mae Whorton and Juanita Alene McElhaney.
Survivors include one daughter, Clara Jean Pemberton of Huntsville; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Brashears Funeral Home in Huntsville with the Rev. C.J. Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Aurora Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Pemberton, John Pemberton, Shawn Whorton, Charles Whorton, Herman D. Whorton and Ron Stevens.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Whorton, Charles McConnell, James McConnell and James Starnes.
