Glyndon Johnson, 77, of 506 South Harris Street, Huntsville, died January 9, 1998 at his home. He was born August 12, 1920 at Wesley, the son of James Coleman and Robert Bertha Shofner Johnson. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church at Huntsville, a grocery store manager, a member of Huntsville Lodge #364, Free and Accepted Masons, a 32nd degree mason, a member of Scottish Rite, a Shriner, a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army, a member of Hayes-Smith Post #137, American Legion and Huntsville Post#10,021, Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Marie Withrow Johnson on October 21, 1990, one son, Bobby Glyndon Johnson, on November 6, 1997, three brothers, and one sister.
Survivors include three grandsons, James Robert Johnson of Bella Vista, Jeffery Michael Johnson of Siloam Springs, and Robert McVay Johnson of Huntsville; two granddaughters, Kelly Lynne Johnson of Springdale, and Tonya Dianne Mason of Rogers; three great-grandsons; Hayden Lance Mason and Garrett Alexander Mason, both of Rogers; two great-granddaughters; and one daughter-in-law, Lynda L. Johnson of Huntsville.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 12, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with Rev. Rusty Blann and Todd Thomas officiating. Interment was in the Huntsville Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Robbie Johnson, Jeff Johnson, Jim Johnson, Jarrod Mason, Randy Smith, and Ricky Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Harvey Turner, Jay Moffett, Jerry Warren, Jon Warren, Jay Wright, Joe Boatright, Dean Camp, and Joe Smith.

Mrs. Helen Marie Johnson, 69, of 506 South Harris St., Huntsville, died Oct. 21, 1990, at her home. She was born Aug. 4, 1921, at Huntsville, the daughter of John Thomas and Nora O'Neil Parker Withrow. She had retired from Carroll Electric Cooperative Corporation in 1984 with 43 years of service as the Huntsville office manager. She had been a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Huntsville for 48 years and was a charter member of the Friendship Club, a member of Huntsville Chapter #487, the Order of Eastern Star and was serving as a member of the Huntsville City Council and the Huntsville Water and Sewer Commission.
Survivors include her husband, Glyndon Johnson of the home; one son, Bob G. Johnson of Huntsville; one brother, John T. Withrow Jr. of Huntsville; one sister, Mrs. Willa Jean Smith of Huntsville; four grandsons, Jim Johnson and Jeff Johnson, both of Rogers, Jerry Elmore of Riverside, Calif., and Robbie Johnson of Huntsville; two granddaughters, Miss Kelly Johnson of Fayetteville and Mrs. Tonya Johnson of Cullman, Ala.; one great-grandson, Devin James Johnson of Rogers; two nephews, John Randall Smith of Huntsville and Rickey Smith of Fort Smith; three nieces, Mrs. Susie Moffett of Wesley, Mrs. Susan Bates of Huntsville, and Mrs. Pat Greenwood of Houston, Tex.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Durden and the Rev. Van McMahon officiating. Interment was in the Huntsville Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Robbie Johnson, Jim Johnson, Jeff Johnson, Rickey Smith, John Randall Smith and Larry Bates. Honorary pallbearers were Joe Smith, Ed Sharp, Earl Shinn Jr., Jack Warren and members of the Huntsville City Council and Huntsville Water and Sewer Commission.
