Remel R. Lawson, 91, of Route 1, Wesley, Arkansas, died August 10, 1997, at the Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born May 28, 1906 at Drakes Creek, Arkansas, the son of Lewis and Eva Esther Powell Lawson. He was a retired service station operator and a member of the Cobb Creek Holiness Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Burdis Adrain Evans Lawson of November 28, 1988. He was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Mrs. Vondie Neff on August 8, 1984.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Gleason and Loretta Lawson of Wesley; one daughter and son-in-law, Wilma Jean and Curtis Prichard of Huntsville; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 13 in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with the Rev. John Martin officiating. Interment was in the Huntsville Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Tom Brooks, Eugene Taffner, Steve Patrick, Kevin McKay, Bob Sanders and Wayne Thomas.

Mrs. Burdis Adrain Lawson, 73, of Rt. 1, Box 174, Wesley, died Nov. 28, 1988, at Meadowview Lodge in Huntsville. She was born March 8, 1915, at Drakes Creek, Ark., the daughter of John Talbert and Eliza Ann Drake Evans. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include her husband, Remel R. Lawson of the home; one son, Gleason D. Lawson of Wesley; one daughter, Mrs. Wilma Jean Pritchard of Huntsville; two brothers, Oral Evans of Wesley and Earl Evans of Huntsville; three sisters, Mrs. Oleta Hill of Springdale, Mrs. Walda Chaban and Mrs. Wilda Barnett, both of Stockton, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with the Rev. Alfred Harrison officiating. Interment was in the Huntsville Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Arvis McCoy, Earl Jordan, L.D. Lawson, Jerry Officer, Rick Evans and Joe Oziah.
