SANDTOWN — Zelma Flolene Baxter Roach, 93, of Sandtown died Thursday, July 20, 2006, in a Cave City nursing home.

Born Aug. 25, 1912, at Pine Hill, she was the daughter of Ervin and Ella McTigue Baxter. She was a homemaker and a long-time member of Pools Chapel Free Will Baptist Church at Sandtown.

Survivors include a son, J.W. Roach of Sandtown; a daughter, Mary K. Roach Holland of Conway; two sisters, Emily McDoniel of Batesville and Mary Edna Horn of Cave City; five grandchildren, Joe Roach of Fort Worth, Texas, Jason Holland of Abilene, Texas, Jeff Holland of Sandtown and Janet Landers and Angela Ring, both of Cave City; 13 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 66 years, Jay A. Roach; two brothers, Austin Baxter and Maurice Baxter; and a sister, Lavon Wood.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Pools Chapel Free Will Baptist Church at Sandtown with Hoover Lewis and Jeff Holland officiating. Burial will be in Lee’s Chapel Cemetery at Sandtown under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

Pallbearers will be Joe Roach, Jason Holland, Carl Ring, Keary Landers, Rick Ring, Dustin Westmoreland and Ditzler Roach.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight.
