Husband of Martha Benson Whitson
Funeral service for Wesley (Wes) Whitson, age 84 years, who died at his home in the Loneoak community northwest of Ozark, Sunday morning, were conducted at the White Oak church, Monday afternoon, Burial was in the Duncan cemetery.
Mr. Whitson was born in Polk county and came to Franklin county more than 60 years ago. He has made this his home since that time.
Mr. Whitson for many years took an active part in the affairs of the community being an officer in the Franklin county singing convention. He was a member of the Methodist church.
Mr. Whitson is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mattie Whitson; three daughters, Mrs. John Harbottle of Altus, Mrs. Walter Harris of near Watalula and Mrs. Velma Kizer of Wellington Tex.; four sons, Garl of the White Oak community, Gervis, Cal and Ed of the home.
