Colman Dee Whitson, 93, of Yuma, Ariz., died
Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015, in Yuma.
He was a retired employee of Farm Irrigation
Bureau and was a US Army WWII veteran
serving with the 112th Calvary, 197th Infantry.
He was born June 6, 1921, in Ozark to Arnold
J. and Myrtle Kizer Whitson and was married
to the former Anna Geraldine Whitson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and
two brothers, John Robert and Edgar Bailey
Whitson.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine; two
sons, Wayne and Ronnie Whitson, both of
Ozark; two sisters, Frances Koop of Iowa and
Barbara Garbiso of Ozark; two brothers,
Rayburn and Cletis Whitson, both of Ozark;
four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren,
and 11 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday,
Feb. 24, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in
Ozark and burial will be at Highland Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Colton, Dustin and David
Whitson, Dallas Garber, Jonathan Adams and
Steven Blanner, active; and Steven, Wayne,
Ronnie, Cletis, Rayburn, Patrick and Reese
Whitson, Lonnie and Jody Sampley and William
Bennett, honorary.
