*Obituary
Russell 'Sarge' York, age 83, a resident of Russellville, AR, died Saturday, November 24, 2001 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville, AR. He was born on June 10, 1918 in McLeansboro, IL, to Bert and Lois Hardesty York. He was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn E. York. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and Korea. He was a Lifetime member of the VFW Rogers-Rye post 2283 and Lifetime member of the DAV Simpson Turner 27.
Survivors include two sons, Ray Eugene York of Indianapolis, Michael Dean York of Russellville; a daughter, Susan York Holt of Van Buren; four grandchildren, Christopher Michael York, Cheryl Lynn York, Melissa Ann Holt, Robin Rene' Holt.
Graveside service and burial was held 2 PM Thursday, November 29, 2001 at Rest Haven Memorial Park at Russellville, AR.
