Springdale - William R. Stubbefield, 65, of Route 1, Springdale died Wednesday in a Fayetteville hospital. He was born May 8, 1908 in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Byron J. and Carolyn Griffith Stubblefield, was a retired employee of Arkansas Western Gas Co., a Methodist, Mason and veteran of World War II. He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Lena George Stubblefield of the home; four sons, William E. of Tulsa, Robert J. of Broken Arrow, Okla., George Richard and Jeffrey Lee, both of the home; one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Wandle of Springdale. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Sisco Funeral Home with Masonic graveside services and burial at Elm Springs Cemetery

Mrs. Lena Stubblefield, 59, Rt. 1, Springdale, died Aug. 14 in Fayetteville City Hospital. Born Dec. 19, 1915, at Elm Springs, she was the daughter of Martin A. and Nora Williamson George, the widow of William Stubblefield and a member of Brush Creek Baptist Church. She was an employee of Servomation State, Inc. Survivors include two sons, Rick Stubblefield, Siloam Springs, and Lee Stubblefield, Arkadelphia; her mother, Nora George, Springdale; one brother, Lewis George, Bentonville; and one sister, Mrs. Velma Tusing, Springdale. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in Sisco Chapel. Burial will be in Elm Springs Cemetery under the direction of Sisco.
