*Obituary
Mrs. Ira Ethel Hamlett of the Liberty community east of Conway, died
Tuesday (Sept. 22, 1964) at her home following a stroke. She had been ill a
week. Mrs. Hamlett was 74.
She was the widow of Bailey Q. Hamlett. She was born Dec. 21, 1889, in
the same community and lived there all her life. Her parents were James
Robert and Betty Kelsey Holmes. She was a member of the Graham Chapel
Methodist Church.
Survivors include four sons, Holwyn F. Hamlett, Harlan (Buck) Hamlett,
and Jack O. Hamlett of Conway, and James A. Hamlett of North Little Rock; a
daughter, Mrs. Virgil F. Montgomery of Conway; two brothers, Cyril G. Holmes
of Dallas, Tex., and Hulon H. Holmes of Searcy; a sister, Mrs. Dula H. Reid
of Conway, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral was conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McNutt's Chapel by the Rev.
Jerry Nichols. (B)urial was in New Liberty Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Glen Tallman, Carmen Hazel, Garland Stephens, Elmer
Graddy, Alton Bryant, Jimmy Hazel, and Frank Bailey.
