Paul Marie Joseph Abts was born on November 22, 1896, in Brussels (Bruxelles), Belgium, the son of Emily and Joseph. He married Emma Rivet and they had one child together. He then married Fran Viva Golden on November 13, 1941, in Highland Park, Michigan. He died on January 2, 1984, in Ward, Arkansas, at the age of 87, and was buried in Beebe, Arkansas.

When Fran Viva Golden was born on October 9, 1914, her father, John, was 32, and her mother, Minnie, was 30. She married Paul Marie Joseph Abts on November 13, 1941, in Highland Park, Michigan. She died on February 8, 2002, in Cabot, Arkansas, at the age of 87, and was buried in Beebe, Arkansas.
