Kenneth Moore, 88, of Paris died Saturday, July 18, 2009, at North Logan County Mercy Hospital in Paris. He was born May 1, 1921, in Cowlington, Okla., to Clarence and Carrie Lea (Foster) Moore. Mr. Moore was a 60-year member of First Baptist Church in Paris, where he served in many positions of the church ministries. He was a decorated veteran of World War II, serving in the 5th Army in North Africa and Italy. He was critically wounded in the Poe Valley after the taking of Rome. Following his service time and recovery, Mr. Moore drove a taxi before he opened Moore's Body Shop in Paris, which he operated for many years. Mr. Moore also served as an alderman on the city council and assisted local law enforcement at many crime scenes. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Herman Johnson; two brothers; and five sisters.
