Son of Rett Hawkins and Pearl Workman. He was a rancher and a farmer in California for 30 years, was a maintenance employee for 10 years at the Booneville State Sanitorium, and was a member of the Booneville First Freewill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by one brother, B.J. Hawkins and two sisters, Minnie Metcalf and Ethel Waggoner.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys of the home; two step daughters, Dixie Trowbridge and Lois Harbour both of Booneville; one son Dale Hawkins of Corning, California; one brother, Lelon Hawkins of Charleston; one grandson and two step grandchildren.
