(from Zion) We are sorry to have to chronicle death of Mr. Sam Eidson. After a lingering illness Mr. Eidson passed away to his long resting place last Sunday morning at 8 o'clock. He was raised in this neighborhood from childhood and was a respectable citizen. He leaves a wife and four children with a mother and father and many relatives and friends to mourn his loss. Rev. Anderson of Fayetteville conducted the funeral services. His remains were interred in the Friendship cemetery yesterday at 11 a.m. We extend our sympathy to the bereaved family and relatives.

Sam'l L. Eidson, age 42 years and six months, died at his home Southeast of this city Sunday morning from an abscess in his right side. He was buried in Friendship cemetery Monday at noon, the funeral services being conducted by Rev. J.A. Anderson of the South Methodist Church of Fayetteville. Mr. Eidson was reared in this community and the esteem in which he was held by those who know him was attested by the immense crowd who gathered tribute to his memory. The deceased leaves a wife and four children to mourn his death and in their affliction they have the sympathy of the entire community.
