SITTON, Rev. - Rev. Sitton died Wednesday night of dropsy at his home four miles east of town. He has been sick the greater part of the winter but was able to come to town two or three weeks ago. We extend sympathy to the bereaved relatives.

SITTON, Thomas Jefferson - To the memory of Elder Thomas Jefferson Sitton, born Oct. 15, 1853, died April 17, 1902. Bro. Sitton was baptised into the fellowship of Springtown Baptist Church in Jan. 1874. He was married to Miss Martha Ellis Jan. 4, 1877. He was ordained to the gospel ministry August 24, 1888. Since then he has been pastor at the following named churches: Flint Creek, eight years and five months; Cross Roads, eight months; Logan, one year; Wager Mills, one year; Oak Gtove, one year; Spring Creek, three years, ten months; Bethesda, four years; Cherokee City, four years, four months; Decatur, five years, three months; Springtown, five years. His work was not confined to churches but he preached where opportunity presented and his work was appreciated. J.L. Chastain, H. Highfill, S.D. Reynolds, Comm.
