*The account of the murder of Alfred Wesley Oliver appeared in the White River Journal Newspaper. On Feb 14, 1921, Alfred was looking for some of his livestock in the woods and came across a still being worked by Robert Long and Palmer Bridges. They shot him in the head to keep his quiet. This was during Prohibition. They dumped his body in the White River and it was found a few days later, and released to the family on Feb 17. Long and Bridges were convicted of the murder. This left Lulu with 2 or 3 young sons having lost 3 infant daughters shortly after their births.

(Palmer Bridges is reported to be buried at McBee Cemetery as well, but it doesn't appear that he has a headstone.)
