Juanita Faye Mote Reed, age 87, of Doddridge, Arkansas, departed this life December 9, 2009 at the Grace Home Hospice in Shreveport, LA, following a lengthy illness. Juanita was born on July 15, 1922, in Genoa, AR, the daughter of Ocie Bryant and Bertie Lee Howard Mote. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and homemaker.
She was a lifetime member of Oak Grove Assembly of God Church, and currently a member of Victory Tabernacle Assembly of God in Ida, LA. Juanita was preceded in death by Byron A. Reed, Sr., her husband of fifty years, a daughter, Madie Lou Deaton, a grandson, Anthony Dewayne Thomas, and a granddaughter, Joy Ann Deaton.
Juanita is survived by two sons, Leonard J. Beal, III, of Grandview, TX, and Byron A. Reed, Jr., of Marshall, T X, seven daughters, Laquita Davis of Atlanta, TX, Belinda Smart of Bright Star, AR, Darlla Anderson of Maud, TX, Norma Dupree of Wamsutter, WY, Nova Thomas of Ida, LA, Donna Phipps, of Longview, TX, and Judith Small of Rodessa, LA, two sisters, Hazel Youngblood and Ossie Giles, both of Texarkana, AR, twenty-nine grandchildren, fifty great-grandchildren, eleven great-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A. M. Saturday at the Texarkana Funeral Home Arkansas Chapel with Rev. Roy Smart and Rev. Gary Dorsey officiating. Burial will be at Macedonia Cemetery, Bright Star, AR.
THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS AT THE FUNERAL HOME FROM 6:30 PM UNTIL 8:30 PM FRIDAY. THE FAMILY WILL BE AT THE HOME OF LAQUITA DAVIS, 505 E. PINECREST DRIVE, ATLANTA, TX. A special thanks to the Grace Home hospice staff. We rejoice that she is in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
