Ola Nolen Hutto, 94, passed from this life on April 24, 2013. She was born on February 19, 1919 in Mt Vernon, AR to the late John and Flora Harlan Nolen. Ola taught school in Beebe, Floyd, Vilonia, and in Wichita, KS as well as coaching basket ball while in Floyd. She was the first female supervisor over flight tests and engineering at Boeing Wichita were she retired in 1970. Ola flew on B47’s and B52’s while she worked for Boeing. She attended college in Beebe, and graduated with a BSA in Education from CBC. Ola returned to Conway in 1971 to be close to her family and friends. Ola loved to garden and work in her flower beds during the day and read her bible at night. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Ola was truly loved and will be missed very much every day until we see her again.
She is also preceded in death by her husband, William A. Hutto of thirty three years, two brothers; Tom King Nolen, John L. Nolen, one sister Ila Nolen Fowlkes, and one grandson, John Larry Dye. Ola is survived by her daughter Pam Dye (Larry), two grandchildren; David Allen Dye of Wichita, KS, and Kimberly Dye Barton (Dean) of Vilonia, and two great-grandchildren; Michael Medlin of Conway, and Cheyenne Barton of Vilonia.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, AR at 3pm with burial to follow at Oliver Cemetery in Romance, AR. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday from 6-8pm.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Estella, Rita, and Nicky and the rest of the staff at St. Andrews Place Nursing and Rehab for their loving care of Ola.
