Mary M ZEILER

Saint Joseph's Catholic Cemetery
Logan County,
Arkansas

July 26,1910-Mar 20,2008

Mary M. Zeiler was born in Paris on July 26, 1910, and passed away in her home on Thursday, March 20, 2008, at the age of 97. Her parents were John and Mathilda Zeiler. She was preceded in death by four brothers, George, Emil, John and Aloysious; and two sisters, Irene Zeiler and Catherine Benz. Surviving relatives include nine nieces and 10 nephews.
She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a graduate of St. Joseph's Elementary School.
Mary was a retired employee of Continental Telephone Company, having worked in both Paris and Russellville. For many years before dial tones, Mary's pleasant voice would ask, "Number please?" to Paris residents.
Mary was an excellent seamstress and sewed countless dresses for her many nieces. She made beautiful dresses for Sundays, school, first communions and other special occasions. She was an excellent cook with southern fried chicken being one of her specialties.
In later years, her pleasures included feeding wild birds and receiving fresh flowers, especially those adorned with ribbons.
Mary provided a welcome mat for all, especially her nieces and nephews and, too numerous to count, grand- and great-grand-nieces and nephews. She was a delightful reservoir of historical information and enjoyed telling stories about her family and her hometown of Paris.
She will be sadly missed by her family.
The Rosary will be Monday, March 24, at 7 p.m. at Roller Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 25, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Graveside services to follow immediately at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Paris under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris. Online guestbook: www.rollerfuneralhomes.com.
