James Leonard Atchison, 73, of Paris died Sunday, July 2, 2000, in Paris. He retired as supervisor for the Ace Comb Plant in Booneville and was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Paris, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Catholic War Veterans. He was the widower of Eva J. Atchison.
Rosary will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Paris. Mass will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Paris under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
He is survived by one daughter, Mary F. Schmitz of Charleston; three sons, James W. Atchison, Tony E. Atchison and Bobby G. Atchison, all of Paris; one brother, George Raphael Atchison of Fort Worth, Texas; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jack Canady, Vincent Scott, Travis and Bud Jones, Doug Davis and Steven Rice.
