Omer P. Tuel Dies At 82
Omer Preston Tuel, 82, Rogers died Monday evening at a Rogers nursing home.
He was born Jan. 16, 1890 at Mason County, Ky., the son of Alfred Edward and Sarah Emma Yazzell Tuel. The family came to Arkansas in 1900 and Tuel moved to Rogers in 1914 where he owned and operated a blacksmith shop. When he retired in 1961, the last blacksmith shop in Rogers was closed. He was a member of the First Christian Church and the Modern Woodmen Lodge.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Etta Thomas of Stillwater, Okla.; and two brothers, Harvey N. Tuel and Russell Tuel, both of Rogers.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Burns Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Randall Sawyer. Burial will be in the Rogers Cemetery under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Rogers.
