MELBOURNE - Richard Franklin Slade, 84, of Sidney died Sunday, Jan. 11, 1998, in a Sidney nursing home.
He was the son of James G. and Rachel Crumley Slade.
He was a farmer and a member and deacon at Concord Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Medrith Stroud Slade; a son, Royce Slade of Sidney; a daughter, Lois Rasmussen of Sidney; a sister, Myrle Moser of Batesville; four grandchildren, Brad Slade of Sidney, Diane Drinkard of Modesto, Calif., Sheryl Thompson of Batesville and Dana Porte of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and five brothers, Arthur Slade, Elmer Slade, Fred Slade, Harry Slade and Oscar Slade.
The funeral will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Crouch Funeral Home of Melbourne with the Rev. Alvin Wiles officiating.
Burial will be in Big Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ray Ford, Paul Slade, Denny Slade, Brad Slade, Curt Thompson and Roy Mynatt.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
