Benedict was born in Arkansas and died in Pueblo, Pueblo County, Colorado. He was a coal miner for many years in Logan County, Arkansas. He and his wife, Anne Delene (Wyndle) Blattler had three sons. William and Alva are buried in Roselawn Cemetery, Pueblo, Colorado and Floyd who died as a child is buried in St Joseph.
