Carlene Bruner Feild Barron, 87, of Nacogdoches, Texas passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at her home. She was born in Heber Springs, Arkansas on June 16, 1921 to Anna Amelia and Wilbur Carl Bruner. In 1931 she moved to Hope, Arkansas. Following graduation from Wheaton College in Illinois she taught home economics. She was married to Talbot Feild, Jr. of Hope in 1949 who passed away in 1980. While living in Arkansas, she was involved in various organizations and a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church. On August 6, 1993 she married Stewart Barron, a Wheaton classmate and moved to Nacogdoches. Survivors include her husband, Dr. Stewart S. Barron of Nacogdoches; her daughter Cathy Hicks and husband T.C.; sister-in-law Sue Bruner; niece Carol Ann Walker; nephews, Carl Talbot Byrd and Bill Bruner; numerous cousins and friends including special friends Pat Petkoff and Bruce McRae. She requested special recognition of her care givers Susie Shaw, Cathy Stripling, Jenny Rudisil and Cathy Caldwell. A funeral service will be held at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel in Nacogdoches, TX on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 2:00 PM with Dr. Allen Reed officiating. A graveside service will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Hope, AR on Friday, October 17, 2008 at 2:00 PM with Rev. David Porterfield officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Third and Elm Street, Hope, Arkansas 71801 or Hospice of Deep East Texas, 907 North Mound, Nacogdoches, Texas 75961
