Elsa Laney Holte, 79, of Rogers, died Tuesday, May 9, 1995, at St. Mary's-Rogers Memorial Hospital. Born July 1, 1915, at Eureka Springs, the daughter of Jess Evans and Mary Melinda Weatherman Evans, she was a teacher at the Benton County Sunshine School for 19 years, a member of the Literacy Council, Grey Ladies, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and a Girl Scout leader volunteer. She was a lifetime resident of the Rogers area and a member of the Southside Church of Christ. She was the widow of Howard Eli Laney and Harry A. Holte.
Survivors are a son, Bill Holte of Phoenix, Ariz.; three daughters, Doris Jean Grigg and Nancy Kendrick, both of Rogers, and Lona Norwood Tomlinson of Mountain Home; 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Rogers Cemetery with Jack Garner officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Callison-Lough Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Southside Church of Christ Sunshine School.
