Lucy Margett Gosser Pitts was born in Dorena, Kentucky on July 25, 1923 to Malachi and Nancy Gosser. She departed this life on Feb. 11, 2008 at Batesville, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter, Tammy Pitts; one son, Carl Gene Pitts; husband, Alvin Pitts; brothers: Carthel, Kenneth, Robert, and Daniel Gosser; and sister, Ruby Gosser Reed.

She is survived by her children: Darlene and husband Hershel Smith; Roy Dean and wife Madaline Pitts; Irene and husband Don Willming; Maxine and husband J.E. Trammell and Ronnie and wife Frances Pitts; one brother, Wilbert Gosser and two sisters; Lorene Gosser Mize, and Hazel Gosser Pierce; eleven grandchildren: Dwyane, Barry, Daryl, Paul, Julian, and Chris Pitts, Leland Smith, Susie Boaz, Connie Williams, Cindy Blanck, and Tony Trammell; twenty-two great-grandchildren, 6 step great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren.

Lucy was a homemaker and loving wife and mother to her children, She was a member of the Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Her life consisted of making sure everyone had something to eat who came by her house and to tell the stores of her life.

Visitation is 6 - 8 p.m., February 13, 2008 at Roller Coffman Chapel, Mtn. View.

Funeral service is 2 p.m., February 14, 2008 at Roller Coffman Chapel, Mtn. View with interment in Fifty Six Cemetery, Fifty Six, Ark. with Bro. Daryl Pitts and Bro. Gary Ragland officiating.

Pallbearers were Paul Pitts, Julian Pitts, Chris Pitts, Dwayne Pitts, Tony Trammell and Leland Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Hershel Smith, J.E. Trammell, Don Willming, Herbert Gosser, Berry Pitts and James Trammell.
