Born youngest of five children to John James and Rose Lena Seidl Eckart. Only four when his mother died. He attended Subiaco Academy. He entered the Navy out of high school. Became a mail specialist and was highly sought after by the big brass. Leo became a postal worker after his stint in the Navy. Father of three children. Janet Sue Pranger, John William Eckart and Debora Kay Wolfe.

Georgia DeSalvo Eckart, 71, of Paris, Arkansas died July 3, 2004 in Paris. She retired from Farmer's Home Administration after 40 years of service and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Paris. She was also affiliated with the Mother's Altar Society at St. Joseph's & National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Georgia was born September 30, 1932 in Catholic Point, AR to William N. & Jessie (Jones) DeSalvo.
Survivors include her Husband of 49 years, Leo J. Eckart of Paris; Two daughters, Janet Pranger of Benton, AR and Debbie Wolfe of Tega Cay, So. Carolina; One son John Eckart of El Dorado, AR; Two sisters, Catherine Schaeffer and Jodie Daugherty of St. Louis, MO; Two brothers, Andrew DeSalvo of St. Louis, MO, William DeSalvo of O'Fallon, MO and eight (8) grandchildren.
