Mrs. Frances Ancel James, resident of McCrory, died on Wednesday, February 10, 2010.
She was 96 years of age.
Funeral services were conducted at St. Mary's Catholic Church in McCrory with Father Ed Graves, officiating. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Brinkley, Arkansas with Thompson-Wilson Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. James was born in Doniphan, Missouri on March 12, 1913, the daughter of John and Agnes Krasovec Ancel who both preceded her in death.
She moved with her family to the Woodruff County area and attended school in Morton where she won many spelling bees. Mrs. James was a devout Catholic, a wonderful mother, grand- mother, neighbor and friend. She loved yard work, talking to friends on the phone and taking care of her family.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Margie James, one sister and her hus- band, Elizabeth and Arland Coley, one granddaughter and her husband, Tammy and Lloyd Hicks all of McCrory as well as many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Agnes Ancel, one son, Freddie Lee James, and one granddaughter, Vonda Hicks.
