Iva May Shipman Mc Cook, 83, Indio, California formerly of Fifty Six entered into rest on June 11, 2007 in Indio, California.

She was a wife, homemaker, mother and sister. She was member of Fifty Six Missionary Baptist Church and was a manager of Dateland School Cafeteria.

She was born October 26, 1923 in Onia, Arkansas to William J. and Lillie (Balentine) Shipman.

She is survived by her husband, ‘Bernie’ Bernard McCook of the home; a daughter, Sylvia May McCook Beatty and husband Randy of Milpitas, California; two brothers, Eugene Shipman of Fifty Six and Jewel Shipman of Mtn. View; four sisters, Ina Pendergraft, Alma Lee Sutterfield, Betty Hampton all of Fifty Six and Meladean Petersen of Mtn. View and many nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Zelenora Shipman; two brothers, Verlin Shipman and Merlin Shipman.

Visitation is 1 – 2 p.m., June 16, 2007 at Fifty Six Missionary Baptist Church, Fifty Six, Arkansas

Funeral service is 2:00 p.m., June 16, 2007 Fifty Six Missionary Baptist Church, Fifty Six, Arkansas.

Officiating will be Bro. Robb Arnold with interment in Fifty Six Cemetery, Fifty Six, Arkansas.

Pallbearers are Junior Mills, Terry Sutterfield, David Shipman, Bruce Shipman, Allan Pogue, Leon Shipman,
Ernest Shipman and Don Shipman.

Honorary pallbearers are Leon McCook, Hubert Hampton, Frank Sutterfield, Gene Petersen and Gene Kendrick.
