ROPER, Lillie WILLIAMS - [from Providence) Lillie Williams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.M. Williams, was born near Garfield, Ark. April 22, 1907 and died in Oklahoma City, Okla. January 4, 1929. She was married to Floyd Roper October 31, 1926. To this union was born one son who is only a few days old. Lillie was a God fearing, God honoring, Christian hearted girl and one of the most model young women we ever knew. For the past ten years her mother has been an invalid and Lillie has constantly, faithfully and uncomplainingly cared for her. From early childhood her manner and disposition was like that of a much older person when duty demanded her. While she was a girl full of life and glee and always with a host of young friends, she was always ready to sacrifice the pleasures she might have had many times rather than neglect her mother. By their fruits ye shall know them. A double funeral was held for her and her grandfather, James W. Taylor at Providence church January 7th, conducted by Elders Oliver Coons of Rogers and John Alberty, Sarcoxie, Mo. Her body was laid to rest in the Snoderly cemetery beside her two brothers. She leaves a husband and infant son; father and mother, three brothers and a host of relatives and friends to mourn her departure.
