Champ TAFF, 74, of Mulberry, died Saturday at 10:15 p m at a Ft Smith hospital.
Born May 8, 1902 in Franklin County, he was the son of John and Mattie King Taff. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Mulberry Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Edith Edwards Taff(she was his second wife, his first wife, Martha Elizabeth Riggs, and two daughters died in their house fire in 1944), one daughter, Mrs Thelma Cullison of Moscow, Kansas; four sons; Clyde of Oakland, California; John of Pacola, Oklahoma; Guy, of Satanta, Kansas; and Jimmy of San Diego, California; two step-daughters; Mrs Mary Smith of Van Buren, Arkansas; and Mrs Doris Knoicki of Dayton, Ohio; two step-sons, Bud and Bill Edwards, both of Dayton, Ohio; 12 grandchildren and 6 ggrandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p m Tuesday at the Mulberry Church of Christ with Jim Boatright officiating. Burial was in White Rock Cemetery by Greer Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were: active; Ray King, Charles Murphy, Harold King, Bob Harmon, Jack Stewart, Jack James, Champ King and Jack McGee. Honorary; Floyd Murphy, Alfred Hawkins; James Hawkins, Newsom Hawkins and Elmo Brown.
