Widow of Willie Hall and Lee Roy Majors

Artie Ardil (LaRue) Majors, 91, was a longtime Stillwater resident who enjoyed quilting, walking, and spending time with her family.

She died Monday, May 10, 1999, at her home in Stillwater.

Services are planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, at Strode Chapel. Interment will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 13, at Morrison Cemetery in Rudy, Ark. Services are under direction of Strode Funeral Home.

She was born on April 3, 1908, to Thomas and Hattie (Coatney) LaRue in Chester Ark.

She was married to Willie Hall on March 7, 1926 in Stillwater. He died in 1940. She was married to Lee Roy Majors on March 9, 1942, in Stillwater.

She attended grade school in Chester and worked on the family farm. She moved to Stillwater in 1942 and lived here since. She was a Baptist, a homemaker and retired cook.

Survivors include on son, Hershal Hall of Edmond; two daughters, Virgie Majors and Dorothy Leiningar, both of Stillwater; two step-daughters Marie Reynolds and June Majors; 14 grandchildren, Kenneth Moore and his wife, Elizabeth, Thomas Moore, Shirley Duckworth, Sherril Moore, Gary Hall, William Hall, Rick Hall, Virginia Evans, William Leininger, Cicilia Lainato, Karen Hall, Debbie Hall, Nancy Sager, and Glen Hall; two great-grandchildren, Alesha and Brandon Moore.

She is also survived by one brother, Elmer LaRue, of Mountainburg, Ark. and two sisters, Minnie Atwell of Mountainburg, Ark. and Grace Todd of Stillwater.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Greene, Ken Duckworth, Garry Hall, Carl LaRue, Curtis LaRue and Roger LaRue. Honorary pallbearers will be William Hall and Billy Joe Atwell.

She was predeceased by two husbands, one son, William Hall, Jr.;one daughter, Betty Majors, three brothers and two sisters.
