Gwendolyn Ann Wortham, 77, of Rosebud, AR went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 30, 2010 at 11:05 a.m. She was born in Matthews, MO on 1-19-1933. Gwen retired from Hall's Cleaners in Searcy and was a member of Friendship Freewill Baptist Church of Rosebud. She loved to crochet and knit and is best known at local craft shows for her beautiful doilies and trade mark house shoes.
Gwen is preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Lee Wortham, Her son, Lonnie Calvin Wortham and her granddaughter, Tammy Elizabeth Garrett. She is survived by her son, Danny Ray Wortham and his wife Tamalyn Wortham, her daughter Sherry Ann Rogers and her fianc� Richard R. Parker, six grandchildren, Shannon Wortham, Carla Cook, Krystal Mathys, Cindy Railey, Becky Baggett and Travis Garrett and thirteen great grandchildren.
Viewing will be at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home in Searcy, Sunday, August 1 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at Friendship Freewill Baptist Church in Rose Bud, Monday, August 2 at 10:00 a.m., Brother Michael Morrison officiating. Burial will follow at Mt Bethel Cemetery in Rose Bud under the direction of Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home. Lunch will be served at Friendship afterwards.
Pallbearers are Delmer Bishop, David Borel, Richard Hall, Butch Hannah, Eddie Jackson and Ricky Mercer. Honorary pallbearers are Randy Ramsey and Stan Wildman.
She will be missed dearly by everyone that knew her.
