A.B. "Mac" McDonald, 86
A Memorial Service for A.B. "Mac" McDonald of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Sunday, September 29, 2013, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, with Pastor Charles D. Harrison officiating.
Mac passed away September 25, 2013, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 86. He was born August 7, 1927, in Smackover, Arkansas, the son of Angus and Mary Bateman McDonald. He married Ramona Harrison on June 5, 1964, at Sturgis, South Dakota and worked as an Operating Engineer in pipeline construction. Mac was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. Mac lived in Mountain Home since 1964, moving from Sturgis, South Dakota. He was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting quail and reading about history and politics. He enjoyed his family most of all.
Mac is survived by his wife, Ramona McDonald of Mountain Home, AR; sister, Mary Jane (Bill) Goodwin of Lubbock, TX; son, Timothy (Darlene) McDonald of Rockport, IN; daughter, Barbara Penrose of Mountain Home, AR; son, Dale McDonald of Mountain Home, AR; son, Gerald "Jerry" (Kim) McDonald of Mountain Home, AR; son, Robert "Sean" (Inger) McDonald of Frisco, CO; grandchildren, Gregory, Amanda, Jason, Alex, Jaden, Mitchell and Angus and great-grandchildren, Eli and Graham.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Angus Stewart McDonald and James McDonald and two sons, Stephen Alan and Michael Lynn McDonald.
Private family burial will be in the Mountain Home, Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the St Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
