February 22, 1929 - March 20, 2013
Lillie B. (Balentine) Gammill, 84 years and 26 days, of Timbo, Arkansas, died March 20, 2013. She was a loving wife, mother, granny, sister, aunt and best friend to many.

She was born and raised in Big Flat, Arkansas on February 22, 1929, to Aadron and Susie (Kemp) Balentine, attending school there until she married the love of her life, Carbin Gammill on January 19, 1946, sharing their lives together for 67 years two months and one day. They raised two children of their own and fed many young men and women at their table. Lillie was a true homemaker, sharing the warmth of her home with everyone who entered her door.

Lillie never met a stranger, her door always open. She was a great friend to many
with her quick wit and sense of humor helping many of her friends and neighbors through difficult times. Lillie had a smile on her face and a kind and compassionate word for everyone she met.

She worked side-by-side with her husband, building a successful farm and a lasting legacy for her family. They often worked away from home, picking cotton and strawberries together to provide the money for their necessities. She took care of the farm during the times Carbin worked away. She loved her flowers and the Hummingbirds. She always raised a garden as long as her health allowed, canning and preserving to get them through the cold winter days. No one could beat her fried apple pies!

Every year she looked forward to the Big Flat Homecoming and enjoyed bringing home medals from the Senior Olympics.

She loved her family; husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all of her being. Her every waking thought was centered on their nurturing and care.

She will be greatly missed by a host of friends and neighbors throughout the community.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, James Carbin Gammill of the home;

One son; Larry and Sylvia Gammill of Timbo, Arkansas;
