Ray was born on Arbuckle Island near Lavaca, Arkansas. His parents were Jesse and May Foster Aldridge. He had 4 brothers Clifford, Alfred, Johnny, and James, and 1 sister, Wanda May. On November 23, 1957, he married Wanda Sue Hurd. They had 3 children: Harold Wayne in 1958, Susan Raylene in 1963, and Marsha Beth in 1965. They lived their entire marriage in Dyer, Arkansas. His biggest tribute is how much he loved his family. At the time of his death he had 2 son-in-laws, 1 daughter-in-law and 10 grandchildren. Ray worked for Forsgrene Brothers Construction for about 40 years altogether.

Wanda Sue Aldridge, 76, of Dyer, Arkansas, died Tuesday, April 13, 2010 in Fort Smith. She was born August 8, 1933 in Dyer, Arkansas.

She was a homemaker and a member of Dyer Baptist Church and Crawford County Genealogical Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Voil Ray Aldridge and her mother, Ruth Hurd.

She is survived by two daughters, Susan Burgess and her husband, John of Muldrow, OK; Marsha Peevy and her husband, Michael of Dyer, AR; one son, Harold Aldridge and his wife, Rebecca of Mulberry, AR; 10 grandchildren, Ashleigh McCabe, Matthew Walker, Amber Aldridge, Brandy Aldridge, Joe Burgess, Sam Burgess, Alicia Peevy, Christina Cook, Leanna Peevy, and Tommy Peevy; one great grandson, Cory Jacob Lee Cook.

Graveside service was Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Dyer Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Larry Thacker, Gary Thacker, Russell Fluaitt, Cory Cook, Samuel Burgess, Tommy Peevy, Laramie Anderson, and Josh Loyd.

Honorary pallbearer were Terry Thacker.
