Jean M. Bryant, 81, of Mt. Vernon, passed away on July 14, 2009. Born in Monroe County, Arkansas on December 20, 1927, she was a daughter to the late Jack and Minnie M. (Abner) Birmingham. Jean was a loving mother, grandmother, Aunt Deanie and Nanny Jean to all that knew her. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and had retired from Kimberly Clark Corp. Her husband Wilburn W. Bryant; brothers Doyn Davis and Earl Davis; sisters Murl Shows and Velma "Euna" Birmingham and her stepfather Richard King preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter Charlotte Harned (Jeffery) of Mt. Vernon, stepdaughter Sheila Smedley (David), of Little Rock; grandson Brett Harned, step grandchildren Michael McNeil (Janice) and Kristi McNeil, step great-grandchildren Catherine, Be'lee and Mandy; numerous nieces, nephews and special family and friends who loved and cared for her.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., on Thursday, July 16, at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, July 17, at the funeral home with Bro. Jake McCandless officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery with John Robinson, Trey Dunkelgod, Weldon Davis, Jimmy Bartley, Leonard Noland and Jason Ingram serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer is Devin Mathis.
