*STONE COUNTY HOME GUARD (Transcribed by Richard White) The Stone County Home Guard was organized May 1861 under the orders of General Lyon for the protection and preservation of peace in Stone and Barry Counties. The guard was mustered out July 19, 1861. Many volunteers joined other regiments after the Home Guard was disbanded.
