TULSA, Okla. — Velma Leota Brandon, 79, of Tulsa died Aug. 27, 2000, at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa. She was born July 14, 1921, in Bentonville to Claud Thurman and Flora Ann Durcan Elam. She was a former longtime resident of Centerton and had retired after 21 years in the housekeeping department of Bates Memorial Hospital in Bentonville. She was a member of Roselawn Missionary Baptist Church in Tulsa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Brandon.

Survivors include one son, John Brandon of Tulsa: one daughter. Ella Hart d Tulsa; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs with the Rev. Chris Hart and the Rev. Rick McVeigh officiating.

Burial will be in Coffelt Cemetery.

Married March 30, 1940
