Benton County Democrat

ARMSTRONG, Isaac Newton - Mr. I.N. Armstrong died at his residence in this city last Wednesday evening of consumption. He had suffered several years with this disease and his death had long been expected by intimate friends. Mr. Armstrong came from Ill. to Bentonville about 16 years ago. He was a good man, having respect of our entire people. We regret his death and sympathize with his family in their great loss. A host of friends followed the remains to their last resting place. Mr. Armstrong was married to Miss E.A. Davidson in 1854 and was the father of five children. He became religious at twenty years of age.

Bentonville Sun
Saturday, April 9, 1892
We are called upon this week to announce the death of Mr. I.N. Armstrong, a highly respected Christian gentleman, the sad event occurring at his home in this city Wednesday, April 6, 1892 at 2:30 p.m. from consumption after many years of patient, uncomplaining suffering. Isaac Newton Armstrong was born in Tennessee April 6, 1832 and died on his 60th birthday. He removed to Illinois while quite young. On Sept. 4, 1854 he was married to Miss E.A. Davidson; from this union five children were born, three of whom with his wife and twelve grandchildren survive him. He became religious at the age of twenty years and was a devoted member of the M.E. church, South. Mr. Armstrong came to this city about fifteen years ago. The Sun, with many friends, extends to the bereaved wife and sons and the four young grandchildren, who are now doubly orphaned, the deepest sympathy in their hour of trial. Funeral services were conducted at the residence by W.B. Johnsey, pastor of the M.E. church, South of this city after which the remains, followed by many friends were laid to rest in the city cemetery.
