*Obituary (Jean)
Jean Mary Walsh, born to Eugene Turgeon and Emily LaFontaine Turgeon, on December 2, 1929 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, went to be with the Lord on March 15, 2013. She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Frank Walsh.

Survivors are her son Danny Walsh and wife Cindy of Jupiter, Florida - grandsons Ryan, Patrick, and Connor; daughter, Colleen DuBose of Maumelle, Arkansas- grandchildren Nicole, Rachel, and Samuel; son Shawn Walsh and wife Maley of Anthem, Arizona- grandsons Michael, Parker, and Peyton; and son Christopher Walsh and wife Lee of Maumelle, Arkansas- granddaughters Emily and Kaylee. Jean also had three great granddaughters - Georgina, Josephine, and Madeline. She leaves behind her brother Joe and sister-in-law Dotie, and her sister-in-law, Phyllis Turgeon.

Jean held various jobs throughout her life, from telephone operator to retail management. From 1978 through 1998, Jean, along with her husband Frank, owned and operated SugarLoaf Marina. Jean was a people person and truly loved her time at SugarLoaf.

Jean's most treasured time was as wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a den leader, girl scout leader, home room mother, and sports fan for all her kids - from hockey to football, basketball, and cheerleading. She made the best birthday cakes, Halloween costumes, corned beef and cabbage, and Thanksgiving dinners. She survived more than her fair share of sleepovers, broken bones, and stitches; and later broken curfews and broken hearts.

Jean loved being on the water, and spent many weekends camping, cooking out, and skiing with her husband and children. She loved to laugh, and had a million funny stories, sayings, and songs.

Jean was a devout Catholic and her faith in God was obvious to all who knew her. She was a member of Saint Francis of Assisi Church for 35 years. She was also devoted to her children, grandchildren, and her late husband, Frank, who will greet her in heaven as he did every day on earth - "Hi, Hon."

Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, April 4, at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Fairfield Bay. Interment will be at the Higden-McLehaney Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
