Jesse T. Carey, 53, of Norphlet died early Friday in a local hospital. Born Oct. 27, 1917, in Shelbyville, Tex., he was the son of John M. and Addie Belle Permenter Carey. He was an employe of McFarland Oil Co., a member of the Norphlet Church of Christ and a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Opal Hayes Carey, Norphlet; two sons, Petty Officer Glenn Carey stationed in San Diego, Calif., and E-4 John Dale Carey serving in Korea; his mother of Norphlet; a brother, W. C. Carey, Louann; two sisters, Mrs. R. H. Graves, Haughton, La. and Mrs. Sam B. Smart, Jr., White Oak, Tex., and three grandchildren. Funeral arrangements will be under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home. The body was carried to the family home Friday afternoon. (El Dorado Times - January 29, 1971)
