SPRINGDALE — James Merl Green, 40, of Springdale lost his battle with cancer Aug. 18, 2002, at Northwest Medical Center. He was born Nov. 8, 1961, in Newport to Orvel and Ruby Satterfield Green.

He was previously employed as a machine operator at Keystone Fasteners for 12 years and was a supervisor for Z-Tech Co. when he became ill. He was a Baptist and a member of Alcoholics Anonymous.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Jamie Green, and one granddaughter, MaKayla Higgins.

He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Janne Green of the home; two daughters, Ms. Cheri Higgins and Mrs. Robert (Teresa) Orme, both of Springdale; four grandsons, Jacob, Jeremy, Joshua Higgins and Jonathan Upton; two granddaughters, Kelsie Higgins and Destine Orme, all of Springdale; two brothers, David Green of Fayetteville and Herbert Green of Spring Valley; four sisters, Audrey Jones of Tuckerman, Virginia Baty and Debbie Mitchell, both of Amagon, and Wanda Sheets of Fayetteville. Guardian angel, Ann Kelly, and several nieces and nephews.

He will be remembered by all for his smile, most of all his love. He will live forever in our hearts.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2002, at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale with the Rev. Bill Williams and Pastor Jack Fredricks officiating.

Burial will be in Salem Lutheran Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Frank Kelly, James Casebolt, Keith Laster, Dale Braudrick, Bob Napier, Larry Templeton and Randal Shackelford.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Mussman and Eddie Casebolt.

Visitation begins at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family will be present from 5 to 7 p.m.
