STUTTGART - Mertie Robertson Stocks of Stuttgart passed away Nov. 4, 2003, at Stuttgart Regional Medical Center. She was born Oct. 6, 1910, and reared in Bullock's Levee Community. Mrs. Stocks was a member of the First Christian Church, where she had been a member of the SSS Sunday School Class, the Loyal Daughters and nursery attendant. She was also a member of the Yoder EHC for many years. She was employed by Harold and Mary Lou Ives for 30 years before her retirement in 1991.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil; and her brother, Ernest Robertson. She is survived by one son, David (E'Loise) Stocks of Stuttgart, and one daughter, Marilyn Rowan (Don) of Bedford, Texas; four granddaughters; three great-granddaughters ; and two great-grandsons.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Ives, John Ed Tarkington, Michael Maier, Randy Conrad, Gary Ives and Larry Ives.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, at Turpin Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, at Turpin Funeral Home with burial in Lone Tree Cemetery.
