Mrs. Flossie Lee Simpson, 66, of Hamburg died Thursday, January 7, 1999, at the Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. She was a native of DeWitt, but a Hamburg resident for the past 52 years, a homemaker and a member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roosevelt Simpson; her parents, Percell and Lillian Daniels; three brothers and a sister. Survivors are three sons, Roosevelt, Jr., Jessie Owen and Leroy Simpson of Hamburg; three daughters, Betty Lou Harrington and Kay Lynn Simpson of Hamburg and Jacqueline Simpson of El Dorado; four brothers, George W. Howard of Hamburg, Ossie Howard of Muskeegee, MI, Dale Daniels of Little Rock and Quinn Daniels of DeWitt; six sisters, Bessie Howard of Hamburg, Linda Howard of El Dorado, Clara Wilson of St. Louis, MO, Everlean Robinson of Stuttgart, Pearline Daniels of DeWitt and Linda Oates of Little Rock; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday, January 11, in the Mount Zion Baptist Church with Rev. W. R. Taylor officiating. Pallbearers were Samuel Jenkins, Jr., Michael Burns, George Howard, Jr., Wilford Howard, Steverson Howard and Wayne Brown. Burial followed services at the Johnson Memorial Cemetery, directed by Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.
