Gloria Faye King Dunbar, 78, of Des Arc died Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Des Arc Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where she had been a resident since December of 2005, after being diagnosed with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. She was born May 11, 1931 in Des Arc to the late Marvin and Madie Patterson King.
Gloria retired from the United States Postal Service in 1992 after more than 25 years of service. She enjoyed travel, genealogy, and spending time with her family. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Dunbar, and a nephew, Scott King Neaville, she is survived by her daughter, Nina Lynn Livesay of Des Arc; two sons, Doug (Debbie) Dunbar of Des Arc, and David Dunbar of Little Rock; one sister, Lynwood (Charles) Neaville of Des Arc; six grandchildren, Kristen (Ray) Harvey and Brian Livesay of Des Arc;Amber (Mike) Carter of North Little Rock; Michelle (Cyle)Harris of Ward;Cody and Madison Dunbar and their mother, Fonda English of Des Arc; five great-grandchildren, Jordan and Katelyn Harvey of Des Arc; Caroline and Walker Harris of Ward; River Carter of North Little Rock; one nephew, Dr. Keith (Susan) Neaville of Searcy; great nephews, Trace and Andrew Neaville of Searcy; brother-in-law, Raymond(Barbara)Dunbar of Hot Springs Village, AR.
Visitation is Thursday, 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Des Arc, with burial in Cotton Plant Cemetery.
Rev. Mike Topham and Rev. Jaimie Alexander officiating. Pallbearers are Charles Neaville, Ray Harvey, Cyle Harris, Keith Neaville, Lawrence Holloway, Russell Patterson, Donald Patterson.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 498, Des Arc, AR 72040.
